Position: Program Facilitator

Purpose of Position:
C. Waldo Scott Center for H.O.P.E. is seeking a part-time Program Facilitator. Qualified candidate is responsible for facilitating tobacco prevention programming for youth. Grant related position/program funded through the Virginia Foundation for Healthy Youth, meeting grant standards and outcomes.

Qualifications: Prefer candidate with at least a Bachelor’s Degree in health education, human services, or other related studies, with at least one year of experience working with youth and facilitating groups. Desired experience may substitute for education. Must have good time management and organizational skills. Must have good writing and presentation skills. Must have and maintain a valid Virginia Operator’s License. Hourly rate without benefits.

Duties: Candidate must meet grant  requirements, facilitate groups, maintain program documentation, provide community presentations, and use social media to promote program and agency. Ability to use creative strategies and actions to engage youth in prevention program. Must be able to work 20 hours per week, to include afternoons, evenings, and some weekends.

Wage: Hourly wage ranges from $18.00 – $21.00 per hour contingent upon education and experience.

Position: Program Assistant

Purpose of Position: C. Waldo Scott Center for H.O.P.E. is seeking a part-time Program Facilitator. Qualified candidate is responsible for assisting staff in the implementation of assigned Center programs and services. They will assist in maintaining a safe and orderly Center environment, providing appropriate guidance, assistance, and supervision for Center members. 

Qualifications: Candidate is required to have a high school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.). Prefer candidate with at least one (1) year of related experience in working with youth. Must have an acceptable criminal and child protective services background check. Prefer candidate with valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record. Have the ability to effectively interact with the public, Center members, and other employees. Ability to engage in physical indoor and outdoor activities with youth members.

Duties: Candidate is required to assist with directing Center members to their assigned areas/activities throughout the program, ensure that members conduct themselves in an orderly and safe manner. Assist with the planning of programs and services for youth participants. Assist with the implementation of structured activities and recreation for program participants. Assist Center staff with the supervision of program participants to ensure their safety at the Center and during community outings and programs.

Wage: Hourly pay up to $15.00 per hour, contingent upon education and experience.
